Aug 5, 2011 · If there was ever a perfect revolver it was the S&W model 19. A revolver in medium weight that has excellent handling, fires a powerful cartridge with wonderful accuracy. I just bought a S&W 15-3 in super good condition it came with the box and owners manual. Inside the box is a stamped date that says April 15, 1955 the serial # is 3K52042. This revolver , other than some light drag marks on the cylinder, appears new so I have trouble believing it was made anywhere near 1955, although ... The serial number is on the bottom of the grip. You might want to check and make sure the ejector rod is screwed in all the way, it can back out a turn or two and sometimes cause the gun to lock up.
